As an art consultant specializing in murals and public art projects, Andrea plays a pivotal role in the conceptualization, design, and execution of mural projects. She will work closely with clients to understand their vision, assess the space, and recommend creative solutions that align with their aesthetic preferences and objectives.
Key Responsibilities: (not limited to)
- Client Consultation:
- Conduct initial consultations with clients to understand their goals, preferences, and vision for the mural project.
- Provide expert advice on mural styles, color schemes, and themes based on client requirements.
- Review typical pricing and budget for public art installations.
- Conceptualization and Design:
- Collaborate with clients and artists to develop unique and compelling mural concepts.
- Assist artist with detailed design proposals, including sketches, color palettes, and material recommendations.
- Creation of contracts and RFP organization.
- Project Management:
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of mural projects, from concept to completion.
- Work closely with artists, vendors, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Understand construction, safety, and insurance needs and requirements.
- Develop and maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the high quality and artistic integrity of mural installations.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise.
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, psychology and studio art
- 10+ years proven experience in mural design, and successful mural execution
- 10+ Years portfolio showcasing previous mural projects and design concepts.
- Strong community of artists/muralists knowledge base and relationships.
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Project management experience
- Recognized Worldwide Walls Artist and Long Beach recognition for several beautification projects.
Pricing and Process:
1. Initial consultation and information gathering: No Cost
2. Once project budget is discussed and decided upon, consultant fee typically is 10-12% of total cost. Typical mural pricing is between $15-25/sq ft (dependent on artist choice, experience, reputation)
3. Consultant will present client with a minimum of 3 artist options, or create a project RFP to begin process.
4. Chosen artist will be asked to complete paid project sketch. Typically, stipends are given for proposals, and can be deducted from overall budget. Client should expect to pay artist for adjustments in proposal.
5. Once final concept is decided upon, consultant will assist in contract writing, logistical planning, and mural execution.
6. Consultant will help arrange a payment schedule.
7. Client enjoys beautifully curated and created artwork at their location.
